Facture: Artists at the Forefront of Painterly Glass

If you’re on the West Coast, don’t miss this group exhibition at the Bullseye Glass Resource Center Bay Area, featuring artists who are exploring the concerns of contemporary painting using glass.

“Overcome (P.N.),” Ted Sawyer, 2006 (via Bullseye)

As Bullseye puts it, “Paintings made from glass are image and object; illusion and reality, and these artists, at the forefront of this young method, are scratching at the boundaries of both.”

This tension is central to my own work, so it’s great to get a glimpse of the myriad ways other artists are engaging it.

The exhibition runs through October 20, 2012. Details available at bullseyeglass.com.
