Did you know that, in all of New York City, there’s only one shop dedicated exclusively to accordions? That would be The Main Squeeze, where owner Walter Kühr seems to offer every kind of accordion under the sun, including some original creations.

 

 

As it happens, Kühr also directs The Main Squeeze Orchestra, which claims to be the Western World’s only 14-piece, all-female, all-accordion orchestra. According to a profile on NPR, the idea for this orchestra came to Kühr in his sleep and is, quite literally, “the realization of his own American dream.”
